Penny has over 26 years of experience as an occupational therapist that include working with children who have special learning needs. Penny is also a mother of a child with dyslexia who has shown great success in overcoming reading difficulties. Out of her own child’s needs, Penny founded Dyslexia Center of Tulsa serving Oklahoma since 2011. Nationally recognized as an expert in the team approach for the treatment of dyslexia, Penny is a professional speaker for PESI. Penny is certified in Handwriting Without Tears, received her Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University and Master’s in Occupational Therapy at Samuel Merritt College Penny has dedicated her research to dyslexia and its impact on occupation: The lived experience.

Sarah earned her Occupation Therapy Assistant degree at Tulsa Community College. She has explored the OT world by working at various skilled nursing facilities with Geriatrics but has found her true calling working with kids. She has enjoyed working along side and being mentored by Penny for the past 4 years

Kathryn Mitchell, Teacher

Kathryn Mitchell has 15 years teaching experience in Elementary Education. She is originally from Pryor, OK and taught for the Pryor Public School system. She received her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education with a teaching minor in Learning Disabilities from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. She enjoys cooking, reading, and walking her dogs.
