The Dream Team

I graduated from Tulsa Community College in 2020 to be an occupational therapy assistant, I always knew I wanted to help people, I just never knew in what way until halfway through the OTA program when I took the child development class and realized I wanted to be the advocate for these children with learning differences that I did not have growing up and being able to relate to them on that aspect helps both of us. My favorite thing about working at Dyslexia Center of Tulsa is watching the kids progress in every session and them getting excited when it finally comes together for them, they always laugh at me because I get super excited for them. I have 2 teenage daughters and a 4-legged son. On my free time, I enjoy watching my daughters play soccer and doing DIY craft projects.

I have been working with the Dyslexia Center for six years and have found great joy in my purpose in life. I enjoy my students and the staff. It is very satisfying to watch the success of the students. Other than DCT, I find pleasure in reading, leading Gentle Yoga classes, doing aerial yoga, staying active with friends and family, and painting.

I’ve been a teacher at Dyslexia Center of Tulsa for four years. I am a former classroom reading teacher with over 25 years of experience in the field. I am very passionate about working with students who are struggling with reading and spelling. There is no better feeling than to watch a student’s confidence level grow when they receive the intervention and therapy they need. I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors.

I love dogs and my favorite hobbies are cooking, dirt bike riding, and watching action movies. I graduated from Tulsa Community College in 2019 to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant and have always had the drive to help people. I can’t think of a better way than teaching my kids at the Dyslexia Center of Tulsa. I like to think that I’m drawn to these kids because I struggled in school myself. My favorite part about working with these kids is witnessing that “Ah-ha!” moment when things just click for them and everything they are working toward becomes easier.

Here at the Dyslexia Center, and I truly love working with our families…we are blessed to have so many great clients! I have been working with kids for over 20 years and I can honestly say I ENJOY my job because enjoy my kids here at DCT. I feel very fortunate to work with such amazing people!

I enjoy working for DCT because I feel like I have a calling to work with children and it amazes me to visibly see the impact the hard work and therapy is making each week! I am a certified and board licensed occupational therapy assistant which is my dream career. I also have an associate degree in child development backed by 14 years of experience in the field. As a busy mom of 4, you can find me spending time with my family, especially on weekends, other wise you can find me sipping coffee and strolling the isles at my local target!

Occupational Therapist
I have been working with kids since high school, starting out as a gymnastics coach to help my local community education program and then turning that love of helping kids into my career as a pediatric occupational therapist for over 13 years. I truly believe that children are the future and that they should all be given the opportunity to be the best that they can be. I could not ask for a better life calling or career. I’m truly blessed to work with the people I do.
